Looking for an "angle" in the 48th ward
48th Ward Alderman Marion Volini established a Zoning and Land Use Committee to advise her on zoning and development issues, and she almost always followed its advice.
In one instance, the Committee advised her to oppose a rezoning proposal that would have allowed the storage of cargo trailers in a residential area.
After the vote, a pal of the disappointed applicant asked her if there was any way to “go around” the committee decision.
