Schulter and a cigarette lighter

Independent 43rd Ward Alderman Martin Oberman was addressing the Council, reciting data from a sheet of paper he held as he stood in front of his microphone.

As he spoke, 47th Ward Alderman Eugene Schulter, who was sitting in the next chair talking to another Alderman, removed a cigarette lighter from his pocket and attempted to set fire to the paper his colleague held.

Oberman, unshaken as he spoke, chided Schulter for his immature act, then resumed his oratory.
