Free pizza
I learned to eat pizza in political campaigns.
It was after nine o’clock and nobody in the campaign office had eaten dinner.
The only places serving food that late were pizza joints. And they delivered.
So, we ordered a few pies and I really liked them.
Sometimes, the campaign popped for the pizza, paying for them out of petty cash. If we were lucky, an affluent volunteer would pay for it all. So, a free meal was always a possibility.
